New Ideas

I've now got some new ideas for research to help with my assignment. At first I had no idea on where to even go about starting this project, but after talking to Mat I do. He said his story is set in the Amazon and that gave me the idea to look at some photos of South Africa to get an idea of the layout of the land.

  1. Hi Charlotte,

Check out Ruben's blog - he's also working on King Solomon's Mines; if you're struggling to get a sense of the story, try going to Wikipedia or similar and getting a broad overview of the story's plot etc. Also, there have been a number of film adaptations; what you need to get good at is 'cracking' a brief - do your research; research the author, research the time in which the book is set etc. - the only way to grasp an unfamiliar concept is to get all 'Sherlock Holmes' about it - go investigate it; don't be frightened of it or intimidated, just get to know it... and well done for watching Metropolis - yes, the narrative is a bit erratic - because the film hasn't been completely restored - but it's sumptuous to look at! :-)
