First Section of Martian Cave
Finally finished modelling the first scene for the Martian Cave. All that is needed now is for me to put some textures on it. I also need to tidy things up, such as going back and naming everything so that it is easier for other members of my group to use the scene.

TARDIS Cake
Ok, for those who are wondering I think it's pretty obvious what the cake if for. It was my birthday a few weeks ago (3rd December) and not just any birthday. My 21st. I was really surprised when I walked through the door to find this sitting on the table. Though I'd upload some images of it to show fellow Doctor Who fans.
If anyone is wondering what the card says, it says 'It's our lucky day. Some Doctor is paying us £50 just to paint the inside of this old blue box'
Yes I have a remote controlled Dalek. Dalek Thay to be precise.

Therapeutic Colouring
Just thought I'd post this. There's a lot of mistakes and it is very rough but it was what I was aiming for (colouring wise). I started drawing this at a Rangers meeting and decided to colour it along side writing my Postmodernism essay during the time off with the snow. It was more so because I needed to let of some emotional steam and to take a small break after Character Design. The proportions are way off in terms of feet, arms etc but I do like how it turned out. As for the 25 and 75. We get badges at Rangers for nights away and our leader was giving out 25 badges to my fiends and I and another girl got a 75 nights away badge.

Transcription Ideas- Music Interpitations
Although I've looked at books for transcription, I've also thought about music to. It was suggested that I could perhaps revisit my summer project and continue to bring to life what I saw when I listened to the piece of music I was assigned.
Another thought was Enya. She's a wonderful singer, famous for her only number one of 'Orinoco Flow'. Her style is very elven and she has contributed to 'The Lord of the Rings' soundtrack. The song I was thinking off is called 'The River Sings' from her album released in 2005 called Amarantine.
The song is sung in a language called Loxian which created for the CD by Roma Ryan
Roma Ryan
I was also thinking of transcribing is a song called Adiemus which was written by Karl Jenkins.
'Adiemus is a collection of song-length pieces featuring harmonised vocal melody against an orchestral background. There are no lyrics as such: instead the vocalists sing syllables and 'words' invented by Jenkins. However, rather than creating musical interest from patterns of phonemes (as in scat singing, or in numerous classical and crossover compositions), the language of Adiemus is carefully stylised so as not to distract the listener's attention from the pitch and timbre of the voice—for example, syllables ending in consonants are rare, in this respect it is similar to Japanese and several other languages. The core concept of Adiemus is that the voice should be allowed to function as nothing more than an instrument'- Wikipedia
Adiemus
However although I've put these down as ideas, I'm drawn more to transcribing either 'The Dragonfly Pool' or 'Journey to the River Sea'. My summer project although could develop further I feel I've lost my attachment to it. I fear if I were to go back I'd not see the same things I did when I first started it.

Transcription Idea 2- The Dragonfly Pool
Transcription Idea 1- Journey to the River Sea
For transcription, I'm thinking of transcribing something with a lot of scenery in it. This is so I can focus on using water colour and other painted textures to really bring out my style and to really make it known. One of the authors I've looked at is Eva Ibbotson. She has wrote many books including 'The Star of Kazan' (my absolute favourite) and The Dragon Fly Pool. I love how she writes in terms of her description. Although she goes into great detail and some descriptions can take up a page or even a chapter (as seen in The Star of Kazan) one never gets bored with it like in most books. Instead I found I saw exactly what she wrote about and was drawn into the world rather than simply put off. I've scanned in the sections from 'Journey to the River Sea' which I feel would benefit from being made in CG. The descriptions really feel as if they could be made with watercolour and other traditional mediums. I've highlighted in blue the description for landscapes and scenery. The green is simply highlighting sounds which I would have to take note off to make it successful and more realistic.

One-a-Day
Seeing as there';s an overload of 'One-a-Day' animations, thought I'd post my contribution here. A simple 2D animation I've always admired, mainly for the play upon words and the curtness around it.The animation is called 'Fruity Bird' and although I don't know the creator's real name, she's very well known on Devianart as Dolphy. Although 2D, I also rather like how it's coloured.
