Things To Look At
This is a post more so for me so that I have the list of comedians Alan gave me in a place where I know I wont loose them.
Further Information on My Words
Although I know what a call center is, it is not something I have had to take much note in. To help me understand more what an actual call centre is, I looked up an explanation.
Call Center
A call centre or call center is a centralised office used for the purpose of receiving and transmitting a large volume of requests by telephone.
Juggler
Juggling is a skill involving moving objects for entertainment or sport.
Mousetrap
A mousetrap is a specialized type of animal trap designed primarily to catch mice; however, it may also trap other small animals.

Crit
So we had crit last Friday. I personally thought it wasn't that bad. Although my image lacked quite a lot of qualities, such as suitable lighting etc, I was still happy with presenting it. I was also really pleased when Phil said he loved the camera angle. I was surprised when he said it was from the angle of a dead person which made the shed even more sinister feel about it. I was surprised because I hadn't thought of it in that way.

Shed Textured
Finally finished putting on the base textures on my shed. I plan on using Photshop to pain dirt and grit onto the windows. I'm not sure what texture I should use for the shed roof though. I was thinking of using a scatter brush in Photoshop to create a grainy appearance. Also it wasn't until I'd actually textured my grass plane did I realize that it would not work (duh Lev).

Ground Texture
Texturing the ground was rather frustrating. At first I wasn't 100% sure how I wanted the gravel and stepping stones to look. This was because the textures I used weren't to the right scale. I tried to tile one of them, but no matter what I tried, it just didn't seem to want to work. Alison then suggested that I leave it and try something else. After a few tries, I found a texture in the end which I thought worked well for the ground as well as the paving.

Wood Texture Attempt
My first attempt at using what Phil taught us in our Photoshop lesson to create my first texture. I used a section of the wood from my own garden shed to create it. I don't think it's very good and I'm still not 100% sure if I've done it right but it seems to tile ok. I would have used the wood texture Alan gave us to use with texturing the chest and barrel in the Pirates Cove scene, but it reminded me too much of driftwood rather than wood used for a garden shed.

Essay Research
'Jentsch believes that a particularly favourable condition for awakening uncanny feelings is created when there is intellectual uncertainty whether an object is alive or not, and when an inanimate object becomes too much like an animate one.'

I found this whilst researching the Uncanny and thought it might be useful. It's another view on the Uncanny by another psychologist other than Freud.

Uncanny Garden Shed
As my final piece involves making a garden shed feel unhomely, I took a few photos of the one in the garden. Unfortunately, it's not the shed from my nightmares when I was younger because although it would have been ideal it no longer exists. I also tried in some of the shots to bend down in an attempt to get the perspective of a child. Phil mentioned about trying to get a view of a child looking at the shed to make it even creepier
