Essay Research

'Jentsch believes that a particularly favourable condition for awakening uncanny feelings is created when there is intellectual uncertainty whether an object is alive or not, and when an inanimate object becomes too much like an animate one.'

I found this whilst researching the Uncanny and thought it might be useful. It's another view on the Uncanny by another psychologist other than Freud.

  1. Hi Charlotte - Freud actually name-checks Jentsch in the essay I provided you - and this quote is quoted by Freud... good to see you getting stuck in - and don't think I haven't noticed that you've working hard on your Maya stuff during these long, boring, snowbound days...

  2. Yes and I'm rather enjoying using maya. I was a little worried at first but well one way of getting rid of fears is facing them. What do you mean by Freud name checks Jentsch?
