Had to render sections of the scene to check what it looked like because Maya kept on crashing (that and the computer decided to restart itself twice -_-). However these problems soon stopped occurring, which is why the later renders are full shots.
I'm not entirely sure if I prefer the effect in the image above, or if I should stick with one of the blurred out ones such as this
hey Lev - good to see these, but, in truth, it's hard to know which is the more effective until the footage is actually moving - because the rightness or wrongness of the 'busyness' of the texture won't be clear until then. Get some animation up and running and then let's have a look!
