From Pencil to Pixels, Gertie and other Animations

A few notes from when we watched 'From Pencil to Pixels'. They're all over the place because it was hard to write in the dark. The documentary was rather fascinating, especially when the comment about how a character could come to life using one small movement.





After watching 'From Pencil to Pixels' we then watched Winsor McCay's animation, Little Nemo- 1911, Gertie the Dinosaur - 1914 and The Sinking of Lusitania- 1918. The animation was rather good considering how old they were. the drawings were lovely, simple but effective.
