Hayao Miyazaki 1941 - Modern Date

Hayao Miyazaki was born in 1941 and is a Japanese animator. He is a co-founder of Studio Ghibi and is very well known in Japan. However, he wasn't known in western countries untill 1997, when he released the film 'Princess Mononoke'. The said film was the first animated film to win a 'Picture of the Year' award at the Japanese Accademy Awards. It was also the highest- grossing film in Japan untill Titanic was released in the same year.
